Phase 1 of Project Completed

Phase 1 of the project was completed recently. Five libraries have already received textbooks, teaching manuals and literature (children’s and classical) from the Foundation – in total, over 500 books. I really hope that these books will be useful for someone to simply enjoy reading a good book and for another to help prepare for classes or exams. In the near future I want to launch the second phase of the project, and install computers in the libraries and connect them to the Internet. We’re currently compiling a data base on the libraries in Nizhnekamsk District, collecting information on which rural libraries have no Internet connection.

Once we’ve completed these two phases others may follow. I really hope the project will be genuinely helpful and open up new opportunities for people in the villages. After all in small villages, it is essentially a library that becomes a cultural and information center.
