Social Networks
People very often ask me if I use the Classmates website or other social networks. I want to answer this clearly and concisely: I have only two platforms for networking - my own website and the Live Journal.

The main resource, of course, is my website, where I publish my news and posts, answer questions and make comments. Most of the news are repeated automatically in the Live Journal – I rarely write anything special or reply to comments there. I simply don’t have the time to use other forums or networks.

But in case, if I decide to expand my social networking, I’ll definitely let you know.

Dear Alina,

Firstly congratulations on your tremendous success over the years as a World Class sports personality you truly are a jewel in the Russian crown. Your more recent achievements on the human stage are almost as compelling.

I wonder though how you choose to connect with the youth of today should you shun social networking? As we all know this medium is fast outpacing the traditional forms and as a result there is the chance that you could potentially miss your target market. I completely understand the reasons for not utilising the medium (I myself restrict my social profiles to mainly family) but there again I am not an international personality or star who is trying to promote your agendas and charities.

Dear Alina, you have 2 profiles on Facebook...Are these real ? I hope they are, because in one of them we are virtual-friends, and it would be a terrible frustration to not be a real profile of you...Anyway, Happy Birthday (for 12 May), again !
